This 7-week in-person or virtual physiotherapy led exercise program is targeting clients who have chronic low back pain and are not physically active. The goals of the program are to improve function and quality of life, reduce pain and recurrence of low back pain. The program consists of a weekly 1 hour ‘yoga’ based group exercise program. Ideally participants should be independent with transferring from standing to the floor.

Boosting Brain Health and Memory
This 6 week in-person program at Storefront Humber is aimed at supporting older adults in learning ways to boost overall brain health and memory. Each session will include an educational presentation and an interactive workshop to practice memory strategies in a supportive environment.

Childbirth Education
A 5-week virtual program for all soon-to-be moms and partners. This program provides information and skills needed for a positive pregnancy, delivery, and early parenting experiences. Topics include: healthy pregnancy, nutrition, labor and delivery, relaxation techniques, preparing for the hospital, bringing baby home, basic baby care, and much more.

Colour It Up
This 6-week in-person nutrition program is for women ages 20 to 50. The program encourages participants to eat more vegetables and fruit through hands-on food preparation, tips on healthy snacks, and recipe ideas.

Concerning Cholesterol
This 4-week program offers education and support for people with high cholesterol. Topics include: nutrition education (including Mediterranean Diet), menu planning, nutrition label reading, physical activity, and stress management workshop led by trained facilitators.

COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease)
This is an in-person or virtual program for patients with mild to moderate COPD. The program is 8 weeks long, twice a week, and includes of supervised exercise by a Physiotherapist, and education sessions delivered by a Certified Respiratory Therapist, Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Registered Dietitian, Family Physician, and Pharmacist. The program also offers access to smoking cessation counselling and FREE nicotine replacement therapy through the STOP program.

Craving Change
This 4-week virtual program is for people struggling with emotional eating. It encourages behavior change through awareness of personal eating triggers. The program addresses why we eat the way we do, without a focus on what, when, where, or how much to eat.

Etobicoke Support Service Exercise
Our in-person exercise programs are developed to encourage older adults and seniors aged 55+ to become more active, participate in a social network, reduce the risk of injuries and falls, as well as enhance self-esteem and independence. Classes are led by Certified Seniors Fitness Instructors or Registered Kinesiologists. All classes include a light cardio component and are designed to increase balance, strength and flexibility.

Expressive Arts
A 10 week program for women who are interested in learning creative ways to improve your physical and mental health, and general well-being. The program focuses on self-expression using various arts modalities in a safe environment. Artistic experience is not required!

Families Get Together
This 8-week in-person program promotes healthy weights and healthy living for parents and children 8-10 years old. The program includes information on nutrition, body image, self-esteem, and physical activity. Each session has a one hour exercise component facilitated by a trained instructor.

Getting on With Life and its Challenges
This mental health recovery and skill development program focuses on increasing participants’ knowledge of and skills for community living. This program offers a place where individuals living with mental health issues can interact with other members of their community in a safe environment. A steering committee meets weekly to develop a 10 week workshop series for the community twice a year.

GLAD
Good Living with Arthritis Denmark (GLA:D®) will help you manage the symptoms from your hip or knee osteoarthritis (OA). The GLA:D program has shown to help people with hip and knee OA reduce pain and stiffness become more physical activity. The GLA:D® program includes 12 exercise sessions. The exercise sessions are offered 2 times per week over 6 to 8 weeks in-person or virtual. The program also includes 2 educational session. The GLA:D® program is being made available free of charge to patients who have attended an assessment for hip and knee problems with a physiotherapist at a Rapid Assessment Clinic, Family Health Team or a Community Health Centre in the Toronto Central area.

Hypertension
Join us for a 4-week in-person or virtual program on prevention and management of high blood pressure. You will learn about blood pressure, the DASH diet (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension), how to read food labels, stress management techniques, medications and medication management, and setting goals for yourself and your health. A Registered Dietitian, a Registered Nurse, and an Occupational therapist will facilitate this group.

The Junction Place Drop-In also supports access to local services, a social safety network, and an increased sense of belonging to the West Toronto community. Living Better with Pain
This 6-week in-person physiotherapy led program aims to improve function through self-management support, pain science education, and individualized goal-oriented exercise. This program includes a weekly group appointment, four individual appointments and two follow up sessions at 1 and 3 months, after the completion of the program. Education topics include the science of pain, pain and exercise, stress, sleep and pain, as well as thoughts, emotions and pain. The minimum criteria for a screening appointment include: pain for more than 6 months and the ability to read / write / speak English.

Long COVID
Join us for an 8-week virtual Long Covid Group. This group is a self-help supportive and compassionate environment aided by health care providers and your peers regarding lingering symptoms from a Covid-19 infection. Group education on various health topics will be provided, including managing fatigue, coping with mental health implications, tips for returning to your everyday activity, breathing techniques, exercise and relaxation strategies. This group will be facilitated by a Therapist and an Occupational therapist using ZOOM.

Surfing Tsunamis
A 20-week virtual DBT skills group. This group is for people who have BPD, BPD traits or challenges with extreme emotion dysregulation and impulsive behaviors. People will need to have their own individual therapist at the time of the group. This group runs in partnership with Davenport Perth Community Health Centre and Flemingdon Health Centre. Please be aware there is a waitlist and to get on the waitlist there will be a phone screening.

Sometimes parents need time out! Looking for a place where you can focus on yourself, learn new skills and explore your interests? You can find it at Time Out, a weekly virtual drop-in program for parents and parents-to-be ages 29 and under. Join us to share a meal, swap stories and take part in workshops on topics such as sexual health, parenting, life skills, mental wellness and self-care - while your little ones enjoy their own programming.
