Message to our Clients about CoViD-19

The health, safety and well-being of our Four Villages’ clients, staff, volunteers and community is or top priority.

We are following the lead of Canadian and Provincial public health authorities and we are taking all appropriate measures to ensure our centres are safe and that we have existing plans and training protocols in place to ensure they stay that way.

We continue to monitor for developments very closely at this important time.

If you have a scheduled appointment

Call the day of your appointment to report ANY of the following symptoms before coming to Four Villages:

  • Fever
  • Cough
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Muscle aches
  • Fatigue (extra tired)
  • Headache
  • Sore throat
  • Runny nose
  • Diarrhea
  • (Children may have tiredness or not be eating well)
  • Travel outside of Canada in the last 14 days
  • Close contact with someone who has CoViD-19 (eg. at work or at home)
  • Close contact with someone who is sick (eg. fever, cough, hard to breathe) who recently travelled

If You Are Concerned You Might Have CoViD-19Four Villages does NOT provide testing

A CoViD-19 Assessment centre is open at St. Joeseph’s Health Centre in the Sunnyside building, 1st floor (entrance available on Sunnyside Avenue).

This Assessment Centre is open 7 days a week from 9AM – 9PM with the last patient accepted for registration at 8:30PM.

Non-insured people are able to access the assessment centres without barrier.

Who Should visit the Emergency Department

People who have more severe symptoms

  • shortness of breath
  • chest discomfort
  • lethargy or drowsiness
  • weakness
  • dizziness

If you are not well enough to take personal transportation, call 911.

These people do not need to call Telehealth Ontario, or be assessed for COVID-19, regardless of their travel history.

What We are Doing at Four Villages in Response to CoViD-19

We have put additional actions in place to ensure your safety as well as the safety our our team.

  • Effective immediately all in-person group programming is cancelled until further notice
  • We are screening all clients who want to schedule an appointment, or who come in for a scheduled appointment, to ensure that clients feeling unwell with flu-like symptoms are identified early while helping them to access the right services
  • Please cooperate with the screening and be honest and up front about your symptoms, exposure and travel history to not put our office or community at risk.
  • We have introduced enhanced cleaning protocols in both of our locations, with focus on high traffic and high contact areas.
  • We have increased communications and reminders for clients and staff on important health, hygiene and safety measures and by posting signs to inform clients and visitors about CoVid-19 symptoms and what to do if they have them

For Your Primary Care Needs

  • If you require an appointment, do not come to the clinic – please call first.  Our reception team will ask you some questions to ensure everyone’s health and safety
  • If you feel you might have the symptoms of CoVid-19, please use this self-assessment tool and read the directions
  • We are offering telephone appointments with your provider when possible to avoid an in-person visit
  • We are prioritizing urgent and time sensitive requests and will postpone non-urgent visits at this time

How You Can Keep Yourself Healthy

During this time of pandemic, you can help keep yourself and members of the broader community healthy, too. What you can do:

  • Stay home if you’re not feeling well.
  • Practice social distancing
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water or alcohol-based hand sanitizer
  • Sneeze and cough into your sleeve
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth
  • Avoid contact with people who are sick
  • Stay at home if you are sick – do not visit a long-term care, retirement home or other congregate living situation.
